Reusables
In May 2005, Reusables was selected to win "The Best Use of Recycled Materials" Award from MORA, The Missouri Recycling Association. Resuables was also nominated for a Columbia Daily Tribune HERO Award in April 2005.
Reusables has sucessfully diverted over 9 tons of materials from the waste stream. These items have been remade into toys, games and educational projects for children and families in Boone County. Some examples can be seen below.

Reusables owes its success to many partners in the Columbia/Boone County region. Reusables has volunteers from many segments of the Columbia community. Students from the Univeristy of Missouri, Public Works volunteers, homemakers, childcare providers, teachers, families, businesses and many others. These contributors donate hours, materials, energy and committment to helping Reusables promote a more sustainable way of life in Boone County.
