Educare Home Visit Program

Home visits are the core of Educare services. Each specialist is trained in Early Childhood Education and together our staff has nearly 70 years of teaching in early childhood settings.

Early childhood specialists will visit your home on a monthly basis. During visits, informtion on such topics as developmentally appropriate practices, environments, health & safety, social & emotional health, and literacy will be shared. A training hour will be awarded at each visit.

A home visit provides the opportunity to individualize important and relevant informtion by offering personal one-on-one time. Child development, current brain development findings and developmentally appropriate practices will be discussed during visits with caregivers. The home visit is a confidential meeting between the Early Childhood Specialist and the caregiver. The relationship and all discussions are based on respect, advocacy, knowledge of early childhood development and education strategies, and community resources.

A home visit mentor will help guide caregivers in their work, help them improve their skills in working with children and families and provide information and honest, meaningful feedback. Mentors can be a support for a new caregiver, helping the cargiver avoide some difficult situations and provide strategies for dealing with challenges, as well as offering suggestions about a variety of topics.
